What is Retargeting?

Retargeting is the practice of serving ads to people who have already interacted with your website or ads in some form.

This is extremely effective in converting users who have browsed your products or services, but for whatever reason the timing wasn’t right or there was something minor that stopped them from converting.

You then have the opportunity to remind them to complete their purchase, or to give them one final convincer with a discount code, an offer, or simply a further explanation of your USP’s in order to capture the sale.

There are lots of ways you can retarget, ranging from reaching anyone who has interacted with your website, to specifically targeting people who added products to cart but then left, or even dynamically showing a specific user the exact product they previously viewed but didn’t finish the purchase.

It can also be an excellent way to re-engage previous purchasers, to make them aware of new products and services or to simply tempt them back into making a repeat purchase.

Conversion rates are often extremely high as these users are already familiar and engaged with your brand, and often just need one final gentle push to get them over the line.
